“Participa City” Game: Adapting for Local Impact

The ParticipaCity project is ready to introduce “Participa City,” a powerful simulation game originally designed for a German audience to combat Islamophobia, places players in a fictional city, where they confront everyday scenarios involving racism and discrimination. Players can take on the roles of those affected by racism, bystanders, or even perpetrators, prompting critical self-reflection.

Realizing the importance of cultural relevance, our partners in Bulgaria, France, Portugal and Sweden are now adapting the game to address specific national challenges. This goes far beyond translation – it involves tailoring the game’s scenarios, characters, and content to resonate with local contexts.

"This game lets you see the world through the eyes of different people in Europe, helping you understand racism and build empathy."
