Discover Your Competences with the Participa City SPIDER Tool

for LEARNER

Participating in a Participa City workshop is an opportunity to develop competences that support respectful communication, democratic participation, and the ability to recognise and address discrimination in everyday situations.

To help you make your learning visible, your trainer may invite you to use the Participa City SPIDER competence validation tool.

The SPIDER is a simple self-reflection tool that allows you to assess your competence development before and after the workshop. There are no right or wrong answers—the purpose is to reflect on your own learning and personal growth.

  • Reflect on your experiences during the workshop.
  • Recognise the competences you have strengthened.
  • Identify areas where you would like to continue learning.
  • Visualise your personal learning progress.
  • Celebrate your development as an active and responsible member of an inclusive society.

The SPIDER supports learning by making competences visible and encouraging continuous reflection. It helps participants understand that developing democratic, intercultural, and anti-discrimination competences is an ongoing process that continues beyond the workshop itself.
