Following the successful Participa City transnational multiplier event, the project partners met in Sofia on 2nd July for the third and final transnational project meeting, hosted by Know and Can Ltd. The main focus on the meeting was to review the progress achieved throughout the project, assess the implementation of the main activities and outputs, and agree on the final steps towards the completion of the project at the end of September 2026.
A part of the meeting focused on the finalisation of the European Participa City game, including the status of the game materials and the development of the digital toolbox. The partners reviewed the work carried out across countries and discussed the final steps needed to ensure that the resources are accessible and ready for wider use.
The partners also reviewed the implementation of the two-step training course, including the results of national piloting, competence validation, national experience reports and curricula. The exchange of experiences between partners provided an opportunity to reflect on the practical implementation of the training and identify lessons that can support the continued use of the Participa City methodology beyond the lifetime of the project.
Another important focus was dissemination, valorisation and the sustainable use of the project results. The partnership discussed the outcomes of the national steering group meetings, dialogue with policymakers and the national multiplier events, as well as ways to further promote the project results among educators, trainers, decision-makers and other relevant stakeholders.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for the partnership to reflect on the recently held transnational multiplier event in Sofia, where more than 60 Bulgarian and international participants experienced the Participa City simulation role-play game through interactive workshops. The partners discussed the feedback received from participants and the potential of the game and training resources to support discussions and learning around racism, discrimination, inclusion, diversity and active participation.
As the project enters its final months, the partners agreed on the remaining activities and reporting requirements and discussed the long-term sustainability of Participa City and its results. A particular attention was given to how the game, training course and digital resources can continue to be used and promoted after the formal end of the project.
With the core project outputs developed, piloted and shared with practitioners and stakeholders, the partners are now working together on the finalisation of activities and reporting, while preparing the ground for the continued use and impact of Participa City beyond the project lifetime.
